Pray today for our neighbors, Joe and Jennifer, and their daughter Josie. Jennifer was laid off from her job at an auto dealership recently. Josie has been wonderful with Isaiah and we feel really drawn to this family. pray for their marriage, pray they can be the parents God dreams them to be, and pray that we will be able to continue deepening our relationship with them.

Pray today for our neighbors Landon and Trish. They face the same issues we all do and I think that’s why I feel so drawn to them. Pray that they can learn the balance of being a spouse, an employee, a parent, a friend, and so on. Pray that Nancy and I will be faithful in doing life with them, and that we’d have opportunities to have God use us to love them.

Today would you pray for Chuck and Beth. They’re newlyweds who just bought their first house, and anyone who has been through those experiences is well aware that, despite how great marriage and home ownership are, they definitely bring a unique set of challenges. Pray that God will help them and provide them with an abundance of love, wisdom, and patience.

Would you pray for my brother Tyler today. He packed up his family and left Ohio to plant a church in Kearney, Nebraska. He’s got an amazing heart and is one of the coolest guys I know. Pray for wisdom and discernement, that his marriage and family would continue to receive the attention from him that they deserve, and that he’ll have some peace and security in the vision God has given him.

Would you pray for me today? Working on a message (actually, letting a message work on me) that I will share on Sunday and I’m being forced to look at some things I’ve tried to avoid for a while now. Pray that I will continue to allow God to work on me.

Would you pray for Dylan and RiverCity Church today? I am sharing a message with them on Sunday (not the reason they need prayer, though I wonder why they’re excited to have me) and want to make sure they have ears to hear the word God has for them. Pray for Dylan, that he will not grow weary from his labors and that God would richly bless his ministry, and pray that RiverCity will live up to their calling as the Bride and truly be salt and light in KC.

No prayer request, just praise God. Praise him because he is…and that’s enough.

Would you pray today for Mic? He’s a methodist pastor who’s trying to start a new work in the area (we live one block apart). He’s such a great man, with a clear heart and passion for Christ. Pray that God will protect him form the attacks of the enemy, that his home and family would be safe havens and provide refuge for him, that he would continue to grow in Christlikeness as each day passes.

Would you pray today for Kay? She is the secretary for the Converge Heartland district. She has a pretty hard job, made no easier by having to deal with me, and consistently handles it with grace, dignity, and aplomb. Pray that she will be encouraged, uplifted, and know how valuable she is to me, to the district, and to God.

Would you pray for me today. I’m in a funky place, read my post entitled “Profiling” to find out why, and I don’t feel like being like Jesus right now. I know I should pray for the trooper, but I’m having a hard time. His name is Bussey. Jesus loves him too. I don’t, not yet. I know I should, and part of me wants to, but I can’t right now.

Please pray for my son, Isaiah, today. He’s four, and is full of the energy that four year old boys have. He is the greatest blessing I could have ever asked for, and is so special. Pray that we will be the parents God wants us to be for him, pray that he will grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with both God and men.

Today I’d like for us to pray for Ron and Dawn Rimby, they pastor The River, a faithful body of Christ followers in Canton, SD. I think they’re awesome, and we share a similar passion for Christ and his work. Pray that they will be encouraged and renewed each day as they seek to serve God, pray that they will grow in wisdom, discernment and insight, and that the day will come soon when we are together again.

Let’s pray for Chuck today. He was a traveling evangelist for many years, kind of a Nazarene Billy Graham, but he has recently had to step away from that. He has been battling depression since 1992, and is losing some measure of hope that God will heal him. He is really going through a severe faithquake, so let’s pray that God will heal him right away, that God will be so present in the midst of the depression that Chuck can’t deny his existence, and that Chuck will come out of this strengthened and emboldened.

Let’s pray for pastors today. So many are hurting, burned out, confused, resigned, giving up. They need a fresh wind, a fresh fire. Pray that they will return to the Source, will have the joy of their redemption renewed, will be refeshed and energized to minister to those whom God loves (which is everybody).

Please pray for the families that live in the Crystal Ridge housing development here in Kansas City. I have been approached by some men who want to see a move of God there and they believe that I am the man God wants to lead it so pray about that also. But please pray that those families will become aware of their need for God, that they’ll develop a hunger for God, and that the Spirit will break free in their lives.

Please pray for the families in the Genesis Trace housing development today. We live in Genesis Trace, and we see God doing amazing things here. Pray that the Spirit will break loose, that all of the redeemed in this area will be obedient to God’s desire for them, and that we can help reunite God with his lost children.

I would like to pray for families today; mine, yours, the neighbors’…all of them everywhere. That we could love, grow, forgive, and enjoy each other. That bonds would be strengthened where they exist, and forged where they aren’t. That the awesome shalom (peace) of God would rest in our hearts, and the hearts of those we love.

Let’s pray again for the families in the Crystal Ridge housing community today. We are having an introductory, getting to know you gathering this evening there in the clubhouse. Pray that God will bring the families he wants to be there, pray that we will show them Christ, pray that this will be the start of the Spirit breaking loose here in KCK.

Let’s pray for all of the unspoken prayer requests today. People are hurting, but they don’t always have someone to turn to for prayer or even know how to ask for help. God knows their needs, their lives, their hurts. Let’s ask him to unleash himself in people’s lives and meet their needs.

Man. I brought a cold with me from Nebraska. Pray that I will find rest and peace and get past this sickness; it’s slowing me down and holding me back from accomplishing as much as I’d like.

Pray for Mark and Isaac today. These two guys are pretty cool, and they’re trying to learn more about what God has in store for them. Pray that I will be a faithful mentor and teach them Truth. Pray that they will labor and not grow weary. Pray that God is glorified through it all.

Pray for my wife, Nancy, today (feel free to insert the obligatory she-needs-prayer-for-being-married-to-you joke here). She’s been amazing all of this time, and things are getting really hard. The twins have both jumped into the terrible twos head on and my oldest is going through the terrible fours! She needs strength, patience, peace, and a break.

Pray for my boss, Walt, today. He has to try to reign me in (no easy feat), without squashing my spirit. He is a visionary and sees what the Church can become, but he still has to operate in the present-does that make sense? Pray for wisdom and guidance, for protection and patience, and the hand of God on his life.

Pray for moms today; single moms, two parent family working moms, stay at home moms, all moms in general. Lots of pressure, lots of responsibility, lots of risk. Pray that God will grant them wisdom to raise their children up in the way they should go, that God would give them an extra helping of patience, and that they would patiently endure and overcome.

Nancy and I are deepening our walks with some people here, and we’re really becoming aware of how badly people need the peace, hope, and redemption that Christ offers. Pray for those who don’t yet know Christ. Pray for us, that we’ll be able to love and minister, that we will labor and not grow weary.
